Photo and Imaging 4
A required course for sophomores dealing with time-based media.
Course description:
P&I4 is the fourth course in the Photography and Imaging Studio Core Sequence for majors. This course expands on the themes of sequencing and editing to explore time-based media, web presentation, projection, installation and exhibition strategies as they relate to photo-based projects.
Students will be introduced to a wide variety of photographic practice through exhibition visits, class presentations, research, discussion and through hands-on experimentation. Expertise in both analog and digital photography is assumed. As with other Photography & Imaging courses, students are expected to shoot and/or create images on an ongoing basis for their projects and share them in critique sessions.
Students will work on a few project-based assignments, including one collaborative project, for the first half of the semester. The second half will be devoted to a project of their own design.
